FPCS/PHPS
The NSA provide an administrative service to APHA for the Fruit Propagation Certification Scheme (FPCS) enabling propagators to enter stocks for certification via the NSA.
For the Approved-Health (A-H) grade and for Hops, which are not part of FPCS, a voluntary Plant Health Propagation Scheme (PHPS) covers these grades and species.
All stocks entered for FPCS or PHPS are independently inspected by APHA Plant Health inspectors (PHSI) to meet the strict requirements for each health grade as laid down by Defra APHA in the published guidelines www.gov.uk/guidance/fruit-propagation-certification-scheme
